Lent…Even though I’m not Catholic…

12 02 2010

I have never given up anything for Lent before. Maybe it’s because I’m Presbyterian and no one told me I was supposed to, or maybe it’s because I’m just lazy and don’t want to put in the effort and will power to give anything up. But this year I have decided to give up something that has done nothing but damage my spirits over the years. Men. That’s right, I am giving up men for Lent. 40 days and 40 nights of no men. My friends don’t think I can do it, but I think I can. I have had nothing but destructive relationships and bad hook ups and it’s time to stop all of that bullshit and take some time to focus on figuring out who I am and what I want in life. And I don’t need any men to distract me or get in my way. Now, I know that this is going to be EXTREMELY difficult and God knows I will probably try to give up Lent altogether, but it can’t hurt to try, right? I figure I can take out any sexual frustration (sorry Mom…and Grandma…) by working out. Thank God I just joined that gym. Otherwise I wouldn’t last a week. So let’s see if I can do it. No men for 40 days. I will blog my every day feelings about it and keep everyone posted on my progress. By reading this you are all my witnesses! As of Wednesday February 17th, 2010, I will be giving up men until Saturday April 3, 2010.

Wish me luck. I’ll need it.

Oh-You can do this—Presbyterians believe in predestination–
so some where out there is the right person for you–it
will happen — just wait and see !! Gm
